An overview discussion by professional patent attorneys covering many aspects of current intellectual property procedures. Topics covered are invention disclosures, the initial attorney-inventor interview, harvesting and vetting inventions, and how the diverse types of inventive process relate to working with your attorney.

Also covered are maintenance fees, different US patent types, US and foreign fees and payment procedures, different options for calendaring and managing payment, and evaluating whether to pay fees or allow a patent to go abandoned, global patent considerations, international applications covered by the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), European patent applications, and foreign national patent applications, differences and possible advantages/disadvantages of each approach, and how each relates to the Paris Convention for claiming the priority date of a previously filed foreign application.
In addition, we will talk briefly about how different laws among different nations may affect whether and how best to pursue patent rights in those nations.
